Although there is nothing more you can do to support a band more than purchasing a physical copy of an album, there’s nothing we at The Pier love more than free music. Our friends at Rarebreed Recording Company have released their first sampler album just in time for summer at absolutely no cost.
The vibrant mix of familiar artists on the Summer 2015 Sampler provide a refreshing mood for any fan of the reggae/ska/punk community. Working with multiple artists from Easy Star Records and Rootfire, Rarebreed Recording Company is breaking down barriers with the genre and proving they are playing a vital role in the family.
Kicking off the mix is Rarebreed co-owner and Westbound Train singer Obi Fernandez with “It Happens to Me” followed by “A Shaky Truce” by The Pomps from New England.
The compilation also includes the latest tracks Easy Star recording artists Passafire, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, and the catchy ska tune “Friends and Business” from our new friends from across the pond, The Skints.
In addition, you can enjoy “Rescue” from The Movement, “Stranded” by Westbound Train, and songs from Jukebox 101, Western Standard Time, Penny Reel, and the Brooklyn Attractors. Not to mention an appearance from the two tone legends, The Toasters.
Rounding out this fine collection is a couple of unlikely homages from The Slackers and their reggae rendition of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” and The Rarebreed Allstars featuring The Attack covering “The KKK Took My Baby Away” by The Ramones.
Whether you are into reggae, ska, punk, or catchy Madonna cover songs, The Rarebreed Recording Company Summer 2015 Sampler will undoubtedly be on a loop all year long. Why you have not stopped reading to go download this free collection of solid music is beyond me.
