June 24th, 2016 will be marked as the day Sublime released a Limited Edition Vinyl Box Set with Exclusive Bonus Content! In other-words, all of the studio live albums that Sublime has put out from 1991 to 1998 will be available to listen to on vinyl!
This vinyl box set collection includes Sublime’s three main studio albums in 180-gram 2-LP gatefold plus 3D lenticular cover art editions, in addition to 1997’s release of Second-Hand Smoke, 1998’s Acoustic: Bradley Nowell Friends and Stand By Your Van: Live in 180-gram pressings. The latter will include five bonus live tracks featured on the previously released CD and an etched image of Lou Dog on Side 4 — This is all exclusive to the limited edition box-set!
The Sublime Vinyl Box Set includes the following remastered 180g LPs and exclusive bonus content:
For those of you that missed out on the Record Store Day exclusive release of Sublime’s first-ever Skunk Records release of 1991’s Jah Won’t Pay The Bills, then this box set makes up for it with it’s vinyl inclusion. As the press release reads, the set’s expanded 2-LP gate-fold edition of Jah Won’t Pay The Bills includes 10 additional tracks from the album’s studio sessions and expanded artwork. The box set also includes an exclusive Sublime-inspired turntable mat designed by Opie Ortiz and two lithographs of artwork created by Sublime fans/artists, recently showcased at the Sublime 20 Year Anniversary exhibit presented by the Sullen Art Collective.
The demand for Sublimes music paired with the increased demand for vinyl makes this a great marriage for fans. This is probably the biggest Sublime news and release since 2006’s Everything Under the Sun CD box-set. I always scratched my head as to why most of Sublime’s music wasn’t readily available on Vinyl. 40oz to Freedom would come and go in limited edition Hot Topic pressings, but the fact that I could only pick up self-titled on Vinyl at any given time left me puzzled. I’m most excited to own Second Hand Smoke on vinyl and I feel most fans will enjoy re-exploring the bands music through this box set release. I was fortunate enough to attend the Sullen Art Collective and I think it’s fantastic some of the artwork that was unveiled during that exhibit is making its way into this box set.
Before it’s too late and this box set sells out, pick up all 13-LP’s, newly remastered from the original master tapes by Brian “Big Bass” Gardner and Scott Sedillo, supervised by Michael “Miguel” Happoldt for just $349.98 by clicking HERE!
