Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band continued their “I Don’t Know” tour on Thursday night with a show at the the Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth GA.
The set list from the show is now available. The featured album for the night was “Havana Daydreamin’” released in 1976. Songs from the album that were played included “Woman Goin’ Crazy On Caroline Street”, “Havana Daydreamin’”, and “Defying Gravity”. The most requested song not played in over 10 years was “Barefoot Children In The Rain” (last played February 20th, 2002 in Orlando)
Buffett told a story about a show that he performed in Atlanta which nobody showed up for. He went on to say that a cat fell asleep in his guitar case, and later he smelled an aroma when he was on the plane to the show.
The Examiner has a review of the show: “Buffett serves up his annual treat for Parrotheads in Atlanta”
Watching Jimmy Buffett on stage you pretty quickly come to a couple conclusions; one that he genuinely enjoys doing what he does, and two that you’d like to have a couple of beers and shoot the breeze with the guy! He’s comes across as an easy-going good guy with some great stories.
Most of his biggest hits were performed and the party was non-stop, interspersed only with personal anecdotes about his career and his music. Listening to his stories and joining in with the songs, by the end of the evening you’d be hoping to hang out for a little while longer to hear just one more story like the one of the cat or the one of the Porsche…it’s all wonderful stuff. And next year we’ll all be back for more of the same. Everybody could stand a little Buffett in their lives.
