From the Tennessean: “14-story Margaritaville Hotel planned for Nashville’s SoBro”
A 14-story Margaritaville Hotel is on the drawing board for 0.8 acres at the northwest corner of Fifth and Peabody in the area south of Broadway.
On Tuesday, the Tennessee franchisee for that concept inspired by the lyrics and lifestyle of singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffett will present concept plans to the Metro Development and Housing Agency’s design review committee.
The hotel planned at 425 Fifth Ave. S. and 421 Fifth Ave. S. would be the second Margaritaville hotel in Tennessee for developer Safe Harbor Development. The Margaritaville Island Hotel opened in Pigeon Forge in fall 2014.
The developer’s filing of elevations and renderings with MDHA didn’t state the exact number of planned rooms, but revealed that the hotel would have 238 bays on levels five through 14. The 297,603-square-foot project will include 160 parking spaces on three levels, according to the design by Nashville-based architecture firm ESa.
