The Carolina Skiff/Sea Chaser 26 LX is another reasonably priced offering from this Waycross, Georgia company. Designed to be a general “multi-purpose” boat for fishing in freshwater or salt, from lakes and rivers to bays and estuaries, even coastal salt and offshore fishing. The 26 LX combines a little bit of bass boat with a little bit of bay boat, and throws in a touch of offshore center console for good measure. She is constructed entirely of composite materials and boasts an extensive line up of standard features. Starting up front from the comfortable forward deck area to fish either standing or from a removable pedestal seat, to locking side rod storage compartments, a forward live well under the deck, and moving aft to the rear casting deck (also with removable pedestal) with additional below deck live well- you’ll find all of the features one usually looks for in a family fishing boat layered in between. The helm area is a no nonsense design built around a console with enough space inside to install an optional electric head and though it’s a little cozy inside, you still have plenty of room to get inside as well as a nice access point to service electronics and wiring from the back of the dash. The helm leaning seat is offered with foot rest and backrest as well as the usual cooler beneath, rod holders cup holder design. The LX 26 just looks like a good old fun family boat for the type of boating people who like to do a little bit of everything and don’t want to exclude one type of water sport for another.
