Hi Everyone,

I finally get to join this side of the forum. I went from a 1995 sahara 4.0 to a 2001 sahara 4.0, what a difference!

I am trying to learn these cars as best as I can. I have googled, watched videos, etc, and now I am trying to start a dialogue to figure this out.

Here’s the question, my coolant overflow bottle shows coolant at the minimum line, but when I open the radiator cap, the radiator is completely full of coolant. When I try to fill the overflow tank, it leaks out of the factory bypass valve at the top of the bottle. There are no leaks of any kind at the bottle area or by the radiator. I do not smell anything weird, have not seen any pinhole leaks, or anything else indicative of a leak. So my question is, why is my coolant overflow tank at the minimum position while the radiator is full to the top, and why is it spitting out coolant when I try to fill it? Do I need a new radiator cap? Other than that, the engine temps are perfect and everything is smooth sailing.

Thanks everyone!
