So I am still fairly new to the forum. I bought my 2001 TJ about two years ago. I’ll detail what I have done so far, but honestly I’ve not done much yet other than repair after repair. The good news is that the 4.0 is solid and has not given me trouble yet.
Not new to 4×4’s. I built one hell of a 1991 Toyota 4Runner, but parted it out when it reached a point beyond my skills.
After that I picked up a 1988 Suzuki Samurai. That thing was unbelievable nearly stock with aggressive tires and a spooled rear. Took it all over Moab and it never disappointed. Unfortunately, it met its end at the hands of an inexperience 15 year old (my fault).
So it was time for my first Jeep Wrangler TJ. Here she is sitting on the dealer lot with 7.5″ RE long arm kit.
I’ll follow up with what I have done in the posts below, but as she sits now, I dropped her down to a 4.5″ lift. 7.5 was ridiculous. My good friend Chad with Wicked Trail Fab build me one hell of a winch bumper.
