need some help, 97 TJ fuel issue.

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on need some help, 97 TJ fuel issue.

More jeep problems….
So I pulled my fuel tank recently and when I took the pump out I noticed the strainer was missing, bought and replaced, also put a new filter/regulator on. Then the pump was no longer able to hold pressure. I’d have to crank for 5 minutes or more before it would start, immediately shut it off and again, long ass cranks. I figured previous owner removed strainer because of this. So I ordered a new pump assembly. Put it all in last night and this thing won’t start at all and it doesn’t appear to be filling the line up. Now I don’t have a pressure tester, but I took the rubber line off and key on it’ll put out a steady stream same size as the line for about 2 seconds and when cranking it’ll spray it out. However after key on key off several times and then disconnect line, I don’t have a bunch of fuel running out of the hardline like I did the first time I took it off. Very little leaks out in fact.

Thoughts? 1997 TJ. 2.5l

havent tested voltage as of yet, however its pumping fuel, i dont have a pressure gauge to test how much, and i dont have the tool yet to removed the line from the fuel rail to see how far its getting.

Jimmy Buffett’s party shut down by local sheriffs

Posted in Jimmy Buffett News | Comments Off on Jimmy Buffett’s party shut down by local sheriffs

From Pagesix.com: Jimmy Buffett celebrated his Broadway-bound musical “Escape to Margaritaville” in New Orleans over the weekend, followed by a raucous party on the Mississippi River — where “Margaritaville” and Hollywood mega-producer Frank Marshall assumed the alias “DJ Master Frank” to spin tunes.

Buffett, “not one to be upstaged, put the evening into overdrive,” a spy said, “by taking over the DJ booth for the rest of the night, playing some mean funk and Daft Punk.”

The party got so wild that local sheriffs closed it down at 2 a.m. The celebration then moved to the French Quarter, capped off by a predawn “breakfast toast.”

Air bag didn’t deploy in accident?

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on Air bag didn’t deploy in accident?

The side airbags are an option, all vehicles must have the front air bags (steering wheel and dash in front of passenger).

Actually, I can verify that a steering wheel is a fairly good stopping item. I was in a head-on collision while driving a six month old TR-4A when it was hit by a wrong way driver on I-10. No air bags, no shoulder harness, just a lap belt. I got 13 stitches and a broken nose.

A direct hit in the front should deploy the air bags. Also if she is short and had he seat well forward, the give in the shoulder harness may have allowed her head to hit the steering wheel, but not all that hard. Trust me, if she really hit it in an accident she would have more than a “not too bad”. As stated, I had 13 stitches and a broken nose from a steering wheel.

Sorry about the Jeep, glad your daughter was not seriously injured.

Front Lift Spacers .75 or 1.75?

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on Front Lift Spacers .75 or 1.75?

My replacement ’14 JK is in need of leveling after I install the new bumper and winch, about 180 lbs.

So I just want to bring the nose up, is 1.75″ the answer? And will the sway links be okay, figuring on the additional weight up front? Or is the .75″ the right way to go. I’m not lifting the rear.

Just added some MT ATZ 285/70/17.

FYI Our previous JK was totaled on Friday the 13th. No injuries.

Found this one with only 9400 miles and garage kept.

Jimmy Cliff Confirms ‘The Harder They Come’ Sequel

Posted in Reggae Roots Music | Comments Off on Jimmy Cliff Confirms ‘The Harder They Come’ Sequel

The 1972 cult classic film The Harder They Come, which starred a young Jimmy Cliff, is often credited with taking reggae music from the streets of Jamaica and introducing it to a global audience. Directed by the late Perry Henzell, The Harder They Come is considered one of the most influential films to ever come out of Jamaica. The-Harder-They-Come

The beloved movie soundtrack features hits from a handful of legendary musicians, including Cliff, Toots The Maytals, and Desmond Dekker.

The Pier recently caught up with Jimmy Cliff to discuss the rumors of a potential sequel.

“Yes! That is still on the table, very much on the front burner,” says Cliff. He continued, adding, “What I’ve learned, when you’re making a movie there are three things. 1 is the script, 2 is the script, and 3 is the script. It’s all about the script! Once you have the script everything else falls into place. So we’re all working on that, just waiting to see when we’re all happy. Everyone saying ‘Yes! This is it.’ Then we’ll go ahead. We thought we would have had something last winter, but everyone didn’t say ‘Yeah!’ to the script. But it’s very much on the front burner.”

In addition to hashing out plans for the sequel to The Harder They Come, Cliff has been preparing to release a new set of music, either in the form of an album or potentially a double-EP. Earlier this year he also put out a music video, shot in downtown Kingston, for his new single “Life.”

Be sure to check back with The Pier for updated information regarding the film and the upcoming music. You can read our full interview with Jimmy Cliff HERE!

LED light bar flicker wired to fog light harness

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on LED light bar flicker wired to fog light harness

I have 4 square cube lights and a 21″ light bar wired to the fog light harnesses.
I did have just 2 square cubes wired to each of the 2 fog light harnesses and they worked fine.
Then I introduced the 21″ light bar on 1 side, running the fog light power wire to a relay, then the power from the relay to power the 21″ light bar and the 2 cubes on the passenger side.
Driver side 2 cubes are still powered directly from the fog light harness and work fine.

The light bar keeps flickering while the 2 cubes on that circuit seem to not flicker.
I added a 4700uF capacitor to the power wires going to the light bar and 2 cubes, this solves the lights from flickering, but the relay is still rapidly switching on/off which is the root cause.
I added a 4700uF capacitor to the power trigger wire from the fog light harness and this does not help, in fact the lights stay off now more often than working.

Is there a solution to running the bigger LED light bars from the fog light harness? I like the idea if not having to run wires through the firewall for a manual switch when I have the factory fog light switch already on the stem.

Krooked Treez “Rise” Background:

Krooked Treez have been honing in on their sound inside their own recording studio gearing up for the release of their sophomore album, Born Calizeans, due out early 2018. The group has been described as a Cypress Hill meets Collie Buddz or what I personally hear as something close to what was celebrated with Damian Marley Nas in Distant Relatives.

The group has released 3 singles from the upcoming album with “Militant Soldier” that features Karim Israel of Arise Roots, Sen Dog of Cypress Hill and Sid Wilson of Slipknot. Sid Wilson returns as a guest for the second released single, “Dr. Kevorkian,” as the group is also rumored to have guest appearances on other tracks by Steven Adler of Guns N Roses, Moi of Tomorrows Bad Seeds and the female artist Brevi, who is a standout on collabs with 50 Cent. More may be announced soon as more music is continuing to be finalized inside their studio.

With the latest single, “Rise,” the track was produced by Brian Vasquez and Krooked Treez vocalist BZ Bwai tells The Pier: “Its about opening your eyes from all the crazy things that’s happening in this world and rise above it all. Make a change. It’s for all the people struggling out there that need that extra push and motivation.”

While it’s too early too tell just how many songs will be on the upcoming Born Calizeans record, we do know that the group has plans to release 4 more singles with each one accompanied by a music video and they’re flying to Belize to shoot these videos. Brevi will be featured on 3 of the tracks and Moi of TBS will be featured on one.

Vocalist, O.Brown tells The Pier: “Bz Bwai and I are excited to go back to our roots in Belize. The name Krooked Treez comes from a small town in Belize called Crooked Tree where my great grandfather is from, the late Ivan Tillet. So we are flying to Belize in December to shoot more videos in the Great Blue Hole, San Pedro Island, Crooked Tree, Belize city, Mayan Ruins and Jungles. We are excited to bring director Sami Ansari who shot ‘So In Love with CA.’”

Stay tuned for more updates on new Krooked Treez music. In the meantime, you can own Krooked Treez music via iTunes by clicking HERE!

KROOKED-TREEz

Krooked Treez Background:

Krooked Treez is a Southern, CA based Reggae Hip Hop group who released their first album Higher Place in 2013. The band is comprised of the B-Real produced and mentored Belizean emcee O.Brown, who performed with Cypress Hill for many years as their protégé, joining the band on many festivals, along with Belizian born and raised BZ Bwai, who brings his catchy riddims and international flavor to the scene. Together, the two create magic, with O.Brown’s hard knock life party-rocking lyricism and BZ Bwai’s harmonic soulful and smooth vocals. Guitarist and California original Bobby Zen is on bass; along with guitarist extraordinaire Josh Stoney Eye, who tighten the band with their rich sounds that are boasted with years of experience amongst its members.
