I found the answer after a little more searching, if the mods want to delete this thread they can. If not, and in case someone else wants to know here is where I found the bolt sizes I was looking for.

Hardware for Mopar OE JK side steps

Front Wiper Issue

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on Front Wiper Issue

Hello again. Last week I went for a drive and noticed that the front wipers wouldn’t work. The washer pump works fine and so I’ve read from other posts that means the motor is bad. I tested the connector just to be sure and have 12v at pin 5 or 6 (low and high) and pin 1 (fused ignition) SO, I ordered a reman and installed it today to find that the motor still wont work. I used jumpers to directly connect pin 5/6 and pin 1 to the battery on both the new and old motor and nothing happened.

I’m guessing the re-manufactured is poop by my estimations but perhaps in my newbness I’m missing something. I haven’t done a continuity test on the wiper switch because there is proper voltage at the connector.

Got Kidde? Massive fire extinguisher with a plastic handle recall: covers 1973-2017

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on Got Kidde? Massive fire extinguisher with a plastic handle recall: covers 1973-2017

Plastic Handle Fire Extinguishers

The recall involves 134 models of Kidde fire extinguishers manufactured between January 1, 1973 and August 15, 2017, including some models that were previously recalled in March 2009 and in February 2015. The extinguishers were sold in red, white and silver, and are either ABC- or BC-rated.

The model number is printed on the fire extinguisher label. For units produced in 2007 and beyond, the date of manufacture is a 10-digit date code printed on the side of the cylinder, near the bottom. Digits five through nine represent the day and year of manufacture in DDDYY format. Date codes for recalled models manufactured from January 2, 2012 through August 15, 2017 are 00212 through 22717. For units produced before 2007, a date code is not printed on the fire extinguisher.

Typical NOV-DEC Parts Sales?

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on Typical NOV-DEC Parts Sales?

I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on a set of bumpers, rock sliders, and a winch, but I don’t have a specific date that I HAVE to have them by. (Right now, planning on using Extreme Terrain for this purchase since they carry all the products I want).

What are the “typical” SALE times that most of the Jeep parts sites offer, like Black Friday, etc…?

Fuel Sending Unit

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on Fuel Sending Unit

Can I buy a 20 gallon sending unit by itself? I will be dropping the tank to install a Holley Sniper EFI system (Chevy 350) and figured if I can get one I might as well put a new one in. I don’t need the pump, and the original stock pump has already been removed from the system.

I will run new lines from the stock sending unit to the EFI unit and a return line from the EFI to the tank. I’m guessing I can use the return line on the stock sending unit.

Talk me out of buying these Tires…!…?

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on Talk me out of buying these Tires…!…?

Good:

I’ve read some reviews that these are great tires;
Look awesome (unique);
I haven’t seen one person run them where I live;

Bad:

Very Expensive;
Heavy tire;

I have stock suspension, getting new 17″ wheels with 4.7 offset, was thinking about 285/70/17, 32.7″ diameter (.6 more than stock if my tire calculator is correct), 11.2″ wide compared to stock 10″. Red Letter Grabber’s, what do you think? Is it doable?

Also in the running are KO2’s, Duratracs, General AT2, etc. I guess I’m very interested as I’ve never seen anyone run these. Maybe it’s because they are expensive or due to being 70 lbs (or is that a misprint)???

brake paddle feels too easy after pads and rotor change

Posted in Jeep Wranglers | Comments Off on brake paddle feels too easy after pads and rotor change

Hey all,

I’ve bought a 07 JK!

It needed new brakes and new rotors at the back. Easy Job, did myself.

However, the paddle feels too easy now. When the engine is off the paddle is very hard to press however when it’s on the paddle is kinda easy and soft and goes down easy. If I press on it quickly there’s resistance but if I do it slowly there’s less resistance. It almost goes down all the way to the floor. My Subaru does that too actually.

Took it for a spin, it brakes so good! So easy to brake now. But somehow the paddle does not feel right like in other cars. Just a bit too easy to press and stop.

Not sure what to expect, I haven’t driven the Jeep with the old brakes much.

What do you guys think?
